Never Give Up at the 14th Intercompany Relay in Lusaka

After the last goodbyes to Matteo at the border with Malawi, the organization of the Never Give Up transfer to the 14th Intercompany Relay in Lusaka. This race, organized by Zambian Athletic Association, consists of relay runs for teams representing companies, public entities, ministries, and an individual run of 11,5 km on road. Continue reading

The head is still a very used mean of transport among the women of Malawi, they carry everything from flour to tomatoes, from laundry to pots, firewood and water. The load is in proportion to the age, and it is not rare that on their back they carry a baby too. Men use the bicycles more, even though today I saw one who was dragging some wood kept together by a rope. Continue reading

Fifth stage

15_5-tappa_1For those of you who should ever pass through Chipata by bicycle, or with little fuel, it is good to know that from the huge poster ‘Welcome to Chipata’, in theory the entry gate to Eastern Province administrative centre, to the real city there are about 7 kilometers, thank God I did the last 10 with Ndeke, a farmer who was cycling with gum boots and was very interested in my journey.
