Independence Cup 2010

As usually, in October we ran an Independence Cup tournament.

The first round was played on 9th and 10th October, quarterfinals on 16th , semi-finals on 23th… and finally the finals, on the 24th!
Teams involved: 24. Age categories: 5. Grounds: up to 8 at the same time. Children playing: almost 2000!
Some new coaches joined us: George for Cheshire team has been awarded as the brightest.
Everything was managed by our members from the Executive Committee…as the first time, it was a very good job!
The organization was sometimes a bit challenging, but.. everything in the end was ok!
Children were enthusiastic about playing again, always all on the ground, even just for support their friends! Very supportive with their mates, lots of them came from home well organized with water and food. I also saw lots of coaches very caring towards them.
It was such a joy when, early in the morning, I saw the teams coming in row, with their jerseys, warming up!
The finals were played in Chikupi, at COE Sant’ Ambrose’s new vocational school.
At the same time we had a race from Mungu to Chikupi, and so… almost 400 people were there enjoying the Independence Day with us!
A very very joyful day…Players on the grounds, people running fast, children dancing, everyone eating, sun shining!
Hope that some of you will join us one day!

Congratulations again to all the winners and the participants!
