Iringa is on the top of a summit which you reach after a big uphill of a couple of kilometers, after you turn left on the main road going to Dar es Salaam. It used to be a German stronghold, that is maybe why at the pub 255 where I saw the match everybody was cheering Italy and super Mario. Continua a leggere

Iringa è in cima ad un cocuzzolo a cui ci si arriva dopo una salitona di un paio di kilometri , che si prende svoltando a sinistra della strada principale che va a Dar es Saalam. My friend the wind is back! I think it is the same wind which accompanied me in the first stages in Zambia, as a matter of fact I am proceeding in the same direction, I am scared that this wind which blows from East to West, will haunt me until I will start heading North in Kenya. Il mio amico vento è tornato! Penso sia lo stesso vento che mi ha accompagnato nelle prime tappe in Zambia, infatti adesso sto proseguendo nella stessa direzione, ho paura che questo vento che soffia da Est verso Ovest, mi perseguiterà fino a quando salirò verso Nord in Kenya. Oggi è stato fortissimo e senza tregua per i primi 60 km fino a Mukambako, dopo sono salito fino ai 1800 m di Nyororo. Continua a leggere

“Good morning” says a child on the side of the road. Too bad it is 4 in the afternoon. I do not know why since the end of Malawi “Good morning” is the most common greeting at any time of the day. A child of about 10 year old told me: “Good morning Teacher”, I answered “Good afternoon. How are you?” and him “Thank you, Teacher” … Continua a leggere

“Goodmorning!” dice un bambino sul bordo della strada. Peccato che sono le 4 del pomeriggio. Non so perchè a partire dalla fine del Malawi “Good morning” è il saluto più comune a qualsiasi ora del giorno.
